“I was traumatized by my first dentist as a small child. I was very frightened by him. That left me very anxious about any further dental visits to start with. Later, when I needed dental work, other dentists that I did go to said they wouldn’t hurt me, well, they did! It was always an awful, painful experience. After letting my dental health go untreated, they only got worse until I started losing them. I had to get them fixed. So hearing of the services offered here at Royal Crest, I finally made an appointment with Dr. Marcello. The news wasn’t good. ALL of my teeth needed work on them or extracted. I was horrified and scared! Everyone here at Royal Crest was kind, gentle and comforting and it really helped me to keep my courage up. Before coming to Royal Crest Centre I had terrible experiences with dental office visits. My experiences were so bad that I didn’t’ want to go for any dental visits. I came to Royal Crest because I have not had any Dental treatment, exams or work since 2004 when I left the Army. I heard about Royal Crest on a news story that was reporting that Royal Crest was helping those who are unemployed and /or had no dental insurance. I would like to just say thanks. This is my first visit to the office. I was referred by my son’s dentist who told me how wonderful this dentist practice is. When I was here with my son, I noticed the Stimulus flyer on the desk. My husband had just got laid off from work and both my husband and I have been having dental problems. WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Dr. Marcello was asked by the ARMY to see troops who were getting ready to deploy to Iraq starting in 2001, and since then we have seen more than 1000 troops. Prior to having civilian doctors seeing these troops, many of them would have teeth pulled if they had even a simple cavity as they would not have means of treatment where they were stationed. Having dental issues is not an option for these people and they can’t have time wasted on someone being off the line of duty because of teeth that are hurting and wasting time during active duty trying to get the soldier to a place where they can be treated. The Armed Services know that we have equipment that allows us to get their personnel deployable in one appointment and they have appreciated that they can send multiple people at a time to us and we will take care of their needs quickly. We worked many weekends during the beginning of the Iraq War and enjoyed meeting everyone; and, it was quite a site to have our parking lot full of Hum-V’s. Many soldiers returned to the United States wanting their teeth cleaned as they said sand got in their teeth alot. We sent one group toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and handwarmers. How are you guys doing? I am doing pretty well here. I wanted to write to you and thank you for the package you sent. Thanks to you, my entire platoon now has cleaner, whiter teeth. Haha.
